could not flush the dns resolver cache: Function failed during execution.

This was tried in Windows7  X64 and the above error came back and has been like this for years now. Has anybody got a fix? It's driving me nuts.

Hi,

 

Please follow the steps in the methods to fix the issue with the error:

 

Method 1: Please follow the steps to start the DNS Client service:


1) Click Start
2) Click Run
3) Type services.msc in the text box
4) Click OK or hit Enter
5) Scroll down to DNS Client and double click it
6) Select General tab and select Startup type: Automatic
7) Click Apply
7) Finally at Service Status Click Start (if it is stopped)

 

Method 2:

 

You may try to reset the TCP/IP stack go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:
