Copying music from CD to my computer

How do I copy music from CD to my computer

Does your PC device have a Disk Drive?

If so you can convert CD > MP3 or Wav, using a third party converter app, such as the one in link below:

A computer is a device, that requires human input to operate efficiently.
Alas we humans do fail!!!!

Use Windows media player [WMP] and this is already on your computer for all standard editions of Windows so you will not need any additional tools.  If you have a special N or KN version of Windows then check Download the latest version of the Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 N or KN and see my post of 23 October 2016 in which I describe the awkward search you need to do to make sure you download the latest version of this addin.  [do not try to install the addin if you have a normal version].

You can run WMP from the Start menu.  The application is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" on 64 bit computers & "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" for 32 bit ones.

There is also some guidance in How to locate and open Windows Media Player in Windows 10

The job you want to do is called Ripping.  There are several threads on this subject in the forum so you can search for rip music or similar to find some advice about it.  In short, insert the CD, open WMP, look on the left for the CD to be shown in the Navigation pane, select the CD, click on the rip tab then proceed.  {I cannot be more precise because I no longer have a CD drive on my computer}

  1. Open Windows Media Player (type WMP into Cortana Search beside your Start Menu)
  2. Go to Tools - Options
  3. Click on the Rip Music Tab
  4. Set the location you want the CD to be Ripped to and the output format (mp3, wma . . . etc.)
  5. Click apply and OK to close the options Box

NOTE: You only need to setup Windows Media Player once - from then on you can just Rip the CD
