Hi Rahil,

I suggest you to run the system file checker scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

You can follow the steps in the following article:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-system/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a93

Please update us with the status. We will be glad to assist you.

Hi Sharief,

As you suggested, I ran SFC to check for any issues, the result cam good with no integrity violation.(used "sfc /verifyonly" command).

But the control panel issue is still there. I have win 10 pro , build 10240. Is this issue related to this build only?

Please advise.

Please find the below snapshot for SFC check.

Thanks,

Rahil

Hi all,

Are you using antivirus? Try removing it. I had same problem a few days back & removed bit defender, which worked for me. After cleaning all the BD left overs from pc, reinstalled BD and so far so good. Suspect BD is not quite there yet for Win 10.

Hi David,

Currently, i am not using any third party antivirus, only have windows defender that came as in-built with win 10, which I regularly updates , I believe, this issue was not there at first when I upgrade my pc from win 8.1 to win 10, after some days of using i experienced this issue first, which might be infected via some windows update or any thing else , though i am not quite sure of it.

Thanks,

Rahil

Hi Rahil,

Sorry for the delay in response.

You may run the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool which fixes the Windows corruption error if there are any. Follow the steps:

    1. Press Windows+X.

    2. Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

    3. Type the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit Enter.

Hope it helps.

Same over here, right after updating W8 to W10. Running the DISM.exe tool (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth) now.

Edit: Nothing happened, still freezes and restarts explorer.  Now running the first tool mentioned. (SFC)

Edit II : Nothing happened after that one too. Uninstalled AV Protection: nothing. It keeps freezing for a while, about 1- 10 secs, and then restarts explorer. Pretty weird, like something like a program file is corrupt or so.

Edit III: Thanks to Daniel Toker my problem was eliminated: resolved this issue by uninstalling the IDT audio panel.

I finally fixed my problem.  I ran the System File Checker and DISM programs and they did not find anything wrong.  What I noticed is that, with my upgrade to Word 2016, I could not print from that program. It would produce a similar result.  I would complete a word document, select "File" then "Print" and the whole thing would freeze (not respond).  I gave it more than enough time (hours). So, I uninstalled my printer and my pdf printer (Nitro). Then I upgraded my video card driver (went to device manager and selected Display Adaptors and upgraded it from there.)  I then reinstalled my printer (HP6700) and went back to doPDF for my pdf printer and now everything works.

Interesting, as I also have nitro pdf pro v8.

For me, removing bitdefender AV solved the problem and problem has not resurfaced.
