CONNECTING VIDEOCAMERA TO WINDOWS10

MY WINDOWS 10 DOES NOT RECKNIZE OR SHOW MY WELL CONNECTED EXTERNAL PANASONIC VIDEO CAMERA. I NEED TO DOWNLOAD FILMS FROM MY CAMERA TO MY PC

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to connect Panasonic Video Camera to your Windows 10 computer.

Although most of the cameras are plug and play devices, certain models might require device drivers from the manufacturer. Usually, you will find this in the disc provided by the manufacturer along with the camera.

However, to get clarity on the devices that you have, please let us know:

1)      What is the model of your Panasonic camera?

2)      How are you connecting the camera to your computer?(Firewire/USB…)

3)      Were you able to connect the camera to the Windows 10 computer before?

Also, please check in Device Manager if the camera is detected once you connect it to the computer. To do this,

  • Press Windows + R key to open Run window.
  • Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
  • In the list check if you see Panasonic camera or Unknown Device.
  • If you see either one of them, right click on it and select Update Driver using the option Search automatically.

Let us know the details and we will try to help you further.

You may also get in touch with Panasonic Support and check for updated drivers for your camera.

Regards,

Vivian S
