Connecting to a remote camera through an IP address

I have an IP address for a camera located at my condo and want to know how to connect?

Hi,

 
Follow the steps mentioned below:
a. Get your IP Default Gateway.
i. Open Command Prompt
ii. Enter "ipconfig/all" “This will bring up your IP information, and number you want is your Default Gateway. This is under the IP address.

b. Access your router. This is done by inserting your default gateway into the address bar in the Internet Explorer browser.
c. Forward your port by configuring your camera. Find the configuration section on the router web page where there is port forwarding. This section is located differently with each type of router. Refer to the documentation that came with your router when you purchased it.
d. Access your camera over the Internet. To do this you will need your public IP address, this is different from your regular IP address. You may need to contact your Internet service provider to get this information.
