Connect speakers in Windows 10

I bought external speakers (Edifier MP250 Plus) and connected them to my Windows 10 laptop. The speakers do not have their own drivers, and are supposed to be installed automatically by the OS. However, my laptop does not recognize they are connected. How do I get Windows 10 to recognize the speakers are connected?

Hi Bill,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

We regret the inconvenience caused to you. Let me assist you.

Provide us with the below details for better clarity on the issue

1. Do you see the speakers listed under Device Manager on your system?

2. Have you installed all pending updates on the system?

3. Are you using USB or 3.5 mm cable to connect the speaker?

I suggest you to right click on the Start icon and select Device Manager. All the device connected to your computer will be listed under it. Check if you can find the speaker listed there. If the speakers are listed try updating the drivers.

Please refer to the following Wiki article created by Andre Da Costa on How to: Install and Update drivers in Windows 10.
