computer won't go into hibernate mode

Currently running Win 7 alongside Ubuntu 10.10. I've been running Win 7 since it's general release and never had a problem getting it to hibernate. Now it won't go into hibernate mode for me but Ubuntu will. Any ideas as to why this is happening and what I can do to fix it ?

Hi.

1. What happens when you try to enable hibernation?
2. Do you get any error messages?

Follow these steps:
a. Click on start button.
b. Go to the control panel and select Power Options.
c. Then select "Change plan settings"
d. Then select "Change advanced power settings"
e. Press on the plus sign "+" next to sleep.
f. Then select "Hibernate after".
g. If the option is set to "Never", then change it.

The video drivers can cause a computer not to hibernate..
Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone..
