Hello, I have a Dell Precision 5810. I shut down my computer with windows update and lost power in the middle of the shutdown. Tried to turn back on and its just a black screen. Tried to search and trouble shoot a bit. removed power, resarted nothing. opened up case and removed bios battery tried to start back up and nothing. was going to try a clean windows install but when I turn on the computer it wont go to f2 or f12.
I put in my old hard drive and that works so its my SSD. Im at a loss. What would be my next steps?

It sounds like you’ve narrowed the issue down to the SSD or its firmware since it’s clear that your system is otherwise working because you can boot from your old hard drive, but the SSD isn’t being detected or isn’t booting properly.
-- Remove the SSD from its slot and reseat it. If possible, try a different SATA or NVMe port or cable.
-- When you power on the system, enter the BIOS (if F2/F12 still don’t work with the SSD installed, try using a wired keyboard and ensure you tap the keys immediately on Dell logo screen). Once inside the BIOS, verify whether the SSD appears on the storage or boot device list.
-- Since your old hard drive works, try installing the SSD in another computer if you have one available. This will help you determine if the SSD itself is at fault.
Please let me know the results for all 3 of this steps.

You could try a firmware recovery, if the drive can be temporarily detected in another environment, but if that fails, contact the manufacturer to check if warranty its applicable.
