My name is Rhaine, I'm an Independent Advisor and community member like you.
I am also using Windows 10 pc. Let us work together to sort this out.
Please try the following steps below.
Run Audio / Hardware & Devices Troubleshooter
Windows Key+I > Update & security > Troubleshoot >
Speech> Run the troubleshooter
Windows Key+X > Device Manager > Audio input Output> Right Click on the entry below > Properties > Driver Tab >
Roll Back - If Roll back driver is enabled, roll it back
Once done restart you pc for the changes to take effect.
If issue persist go back to device manager
Windows Key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand the Audio input Output
Right click "Update"
Click "Browse my computer for drive software
Let me pick from the list of driver software
Try to use the old driver.
Restart and check how it goes.

For the meantime you can check the drivers of your Microphone if its updated.

To be able to assist you properly, I would like to ask few questions from you, please see below:
1. When did the issue start to happen?
2. Was this working before?
3. Are there any changes recently before this happens?
Please try these steps:
1. In taskbar, righ-click the sound icon and select Sounds.
2. Go to Recording tab > select the Microphone device you are using
3. Click Configure button
4. Then select Set up microphone
5. Then follow the instructions on the next screens.
After completing it, please check again your microphone.
Also, try the Audio Tuning wizard:
1. In search box, search for Audio Tuning Wizard
2. Then follow the instructions on the next screens.
