Code 39 error on Windows 10

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Object Name not found.

At first it was a code 10 error but now it indicates code 39.

Is it possible to force a Windows 7 driver to a Windows 10 system?

This issue is related to a onboard Ethernet Controller (Intel 82579V)

Windows is not accepting the drivers from Intel or computer manufacturer (Lenovo)

If Windows Update has no drivers for that device either then try running the latest driver you can find in compatibility mode (right-click driver setup EXE > Properties > Compatibility tab > Select Win7/8 as per driver version and also Run as admin checkbox).

Edit: Are you sure none of the Win10 driver versions on the page below work?

Edit 2: Have you tried the latest and successively older versions of the Win10 driver?

Yes, I tried the drivers using (Win 7 compatibility mode) from the intel download center as well the driver from the manufacturer in Win 7 Mode and so far getting the following results:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

Trying a reboot to see if any improvements.

The error code that you received has something to do with the device driver. To resolve this, we suggest that you update the driver for your Ethernet Controller (Intel 82579V).  Please follow the steps to Install updates for Windows and the device driver from this link.

Update us with the result.

Regards.

Just something other to check is if there are any filter drivers trying to be loaded.

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

That looks normal.

Can you get the Hardware Ids for the device:

In the Device Manager and right-click the device > Properties > Details, then choose "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down menu under "Property".

What is listed under "Value"?

Give this a try - you will need third party decompression software installed such as WinRAR, WinZip or 7-Zip.:

Download the following driver from Intel:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=52963

Right click and extract the driver file with WinRAR, etc. to a folder.

Assuming you have 64-bit installation of Windows and extracted the driver to PROWinx64 folder, do the following:

In the Device Manager right-click the Intel 82579V adapter > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software

In the "Search for driver software in this location" type the following path (typing in the preceding location) or "Browse" to the location (this location has the matching Hardware Id in .inf files):

\PROWinx64\PRO1000\Winx64

Make sure "Include subfolders" is "checked"

Then click "Next".

is a new driver installed?
