CMD.EXE error 0xc0000142

I recently installed Windows 7 Professional in a clean install onto a new primary HDD. I left the Windows 7 RC install installed as a secondary HDD on thew same computer.   booted the RC version of Windows 7 to run  Outlook 2007 and export the messages rules. When I did this, I saved the file to my new Windows 7 installation's profile desktop.

When I rebooted to run the new instance of Windows 7 Pro, it ran a disk check and found some errors.  It completed the reboot and Windows boots fine but I started getting the error 0xc0000142 whenever I tried run a command prompt or any other application that looks like it launches via a cmd prompt.  I tried creating a new admin level user to run at that user to see if it was a user rights  issue to no avail.  I ran a system restore to a day prior to the disk check fiasco, didn't help.  When booting up and selecting the repair option, I AM able to select the command prompt choice and run cmd prompt.  SFC doesn't work.

Any suggestions?  I haven't been able to find a found.000 folder anywhere from the disk check to see what files may have had issues.

Try uninstalling nvidia experiance.

i tried your pattern but it didn't do it for me.

Hi Skydiverscott,

Run command prompt as administrator mode and check.

1.      Click Start and type cmd in Start Search.
2.      Right click the command prompt and click Run as administrator and check.

If the issue still persists, get the error from the event log.

·         Open Event Viewer by clicking the Start, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Event Viewer.‌ If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Open Event Viewer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-Event-Viewer

I would also suggest that you run a complete check disk from Windows Recovery environment and check.

. In the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk /R

I would also suggest that you run a virus scan on the computer and check, you may run online virus scan from the link: http://saftey.live.com

Provide the error code from the event log.
