chrome crashing after quality updates to windows 10

My PC updated last night/ early this morning with updates KB4565483 AND KB4565633. Since this morning when I open chrome it stays up for about 15 seconds and crashes.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome but the same thing keeps happening.  I ran the trouble shooting tool and it rolls the setting back to Vista Service Pack 2!

Any assistance is appreciated

Hi Destany. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 11 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.

1) See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began following this guide: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...

System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started.

If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

2) Try these Chrome fixes until one works:

Reset Chrome following this guide:
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-reset-google-ch...

If that doesn't fix it then Reinstall Chrome:

Right click empty area of Task bar to open Task manager.
If necessary show More Details
Under "Processes," look for "Google Chrome" or "chrome.exe."
Click it, then click End process.

Then go into C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (86) to find the Google folder and delete the Chrome Folder.

You may need to Take Ownership first using this handy tool that will install to your right click mouse button: https://www.askvg.com/add-take-ownership-option...

On the View tab of File Explorer then tick Hidden Files, open C:\Program Data to do the same.

Go into Start > Windows Settings (gear icon) > Apps > Apps & Features > Google Chrome > Uninstall.

Restart PC to reinstall Chrome from fresh download here: https://www.google.com/chrome/

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Chrome is not the problem. When my laptop installed the Windows update KB4565483, suddenly both Chrome, MS Office, Discord and Adobe Creative Suite — NONE of them were working. I rolled back the update. It installed again last night and this time lets Office work, but everything else either crashes on launch, or once it gets to a certain memory useage. Theres a problem with the update patch.

After rolling back to the previous Windows 10, you may want to pause the update for a month. This post may help:
