changing the appearance of folders

is there a way to change the color of some of the folders in my documents library?
Under help it says to select a folder, hit the properties button and a customize
button will appear.  It doesn't.

1 Select a folder

2 Right-click & select Properties

3 The Properties dialog appears

4 Look in the Customise tab

5 Under the headings Folder pictures & Folder icons, you can select a picture or icon to appear in place of the default folder icon.

To keep the same icon but have it in a different colour, you'd need to make a copy of the icon & edit it in an Icon editor. [These are third-party utilities that you will need to search for on the internet.  There used to be several free versions & no doubt still are.]

Best of luck,

I use this software.  https://www.folderico.com/

It changes the colors of folders and they look nice.  It is easy to use too.

Hope you like it.
