Captures folder disappeared

Hi.

I tried to move my capture folder from my video folder to my pictures folder. When I did this instead of moving the whole folder windows moved only the contents of the captures folder. Now my pictures folder has all my Captures folder contents in it and the captures folder has gone. It's nowhere on my system anymore. What can I do to get the Captures folder back?

Answer
Answer
OK, we will go for the Registry fix to recreate the Captures folder . . .

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor

In the pane, navigate to this Key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

In the right hand pane, do you see this exact item:

{EDC0FE71-98D8-4F4A-B920-C8DC133CB165}

If so double click that and set its value to:

%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

If you do not see that in the right hand pane:

Right click in an empty part of the right hand pane and choose New - 'Expandable String Value'

Paste this as its name:

{EDC0FE71-98D8-4F4A-B920-C8DC133CB165}

Then double click that new string and set its value as:

%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC
