Cant update windows 11 23h2 update from 21h2

Tried troubleshooting
Stop Windows Update and its related services>Clear Windows update cache>Restart the Windows services

SFC and DISM commands
Tried reset, install from iso, install from usb bootable all failed installing the upgrade

Removed all third-party application

Still keeps failing

This is the error we keep getting
the mountvol workaround which we did from win10 also doesn't work

This error 0x80070652 indicates another instance of the setup is running.

Restart Windows and run an in-place upgrade using the ISO.

Hi @ramesh,

I have restarted , shutdown and tried all the three methods

From assistant, In Place, and Boot.

Still we get the same error.

I get either the above error or 0x800700b7

Hi Vishal,

1) Please open Disk Management and maximize it. Adjust the column widths in the top pane to make all the entries visible. Post a screenshot.

2) Share the following setup log file on OneDrive (or any other host) and post the link here:

 

C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log

 

Note: "C:\$WINDOWS.~BT" is a hidden folder. To access it, press Win + R, type "C:\$WINDOWS.~BT" and click OK.

1) Uninstall CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor. You can install it later if needed.

2) Update the BIOS. Version 01.30.00 Rev.A seems to be available for your HP system. Please check it out.

3) Clean boot Windows using msconfig.exe. A clean boot is the process of starting Windows without loading third-party apps and services. Please see this Microsoft article for more information.

(Important; You need to first enable "Hide all Microsoft Services" before clicking "Disable all".)

4) Enable Memory Integrity. To enable memory integrity in Windows, go to Windows Security > Device security > Core isolation details > Memory integrity. If it shows any incompatible drivers, post the screenshot here.

Please perform the following steps:

1) Find a flash drive that you can format (> or = 8 GB)

2) Create a bootable Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) (Windows 11 iso)

3) Uninstall CrowdStrike

4) Create a new restore point:

5) The BIOS Version/Date HP R70 Ver. 01.23.00, 29/11/2022

Upgrade the BIOS: 1.23 > 1.30

6) Decrypt bitlocker

7) Place the computer into clean boot:

7) Detach the non-Windows disk drive

8) Perform an in place upgrade repair using the MCT (Windows iso)

a) while in clean boot

b) with detached non-Windows drives and any other non-essential hardware

c) with a decrypted drive

d) with disconnected Wifi and Ethernet (perform updates only after a successful upgrade)
