Can't unistall whatsapp desktop from my laptop

Hi,

I haven't been able to launch or uninstall WhatsApp from my desktop. I need to use it through web only.

I can see it in Settings/Apps and I tried a Reset. Subsequent resets/uninstall have failed with a 'please try later message'.

Something seems to be broken. Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Kevin Vadaliya

Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Open Windows PowerShell (admin) and run the command: Get-AppxPackage | Select Name, PackageFullName ,to list all installed apps and their PackageFullName search for whatsapp and copy.

Then place the command with Get-AppxPackage PackageFullName | Remove-AppxPackage , press enter.

Example Get-AppxPackage 5319275A.WhatsAppDesktop | Remove-AppxPackage

Hope this helps.

Hi ,

Have you checked the list for the Name of the WhatsApp application on your computer.

Get-AppxPackage | Select Name, PackageFullName

Run this command in Powershell (admin) it will open a list look for the name of the Whatsapp application.

Replicates the Command: Get-AppxPackage "put the application name here" | Remove-AppxPackage

Hi Ivan,

I tried with the full package detail as well as mentioned in your comment above but still nothing is happening. Do you mind connecting for a short call sometime?

Kevin

Hi ,

In this case, could it be a problem with Windows updates?

What version of Windows 10 are you on 22h2 or 21h2?

If possible, go to the Start menu > Settings > Update and security > Troubleshooting > Additional troubleshooting > Select Windows updates and WIndows Store applications.

Open Windows powershell (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth , one at a time, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

After reboot, access the Microsoft Store and Library > Get updates.
