Can't turn on windows feature Internet Explorer 11

Windows 11 was not installed on my system, but I needed it to test. I can't get it to install by using the control panel.

Here are my steps:

In the control panel > Programs and features, I have clicked Turn Windows features on or Off, selected the box next to Internet Explorer 11 so that the box state has changed from unchecked to checked. I click OK.

The dialog exits. There is no confirmation.

I open the Turn windows features on or off dialog again. Internet Explorer 11 is once again unchecked.

I restart. Internet Explorer 11 is not available on the start menu, and if I open the Turn windows features on or off dialog again. Internet Explorer 11 is unchecked.

I have repeated the process of opening the dialog, selecting the box and pressing OK, but I still cannot find the program in the start menu by searching 'Internet Explorer'

Hey @_502

I had the same problem, and after 4 LONG hours, I managed to solve this one for me:

let's just make sure we are all at the same position:

1. Winkey + R to open the run window

2. type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter

3. click Turn Windows features on or off

4. our problem here is that after ticking the IE11 option and clicking OK, if we reopen this window it is still unticked.

also available through here:

What I did to solve it:

go back to step 4 mentioned above,

but when you tick the IE11 option, also tick some unticked stuff as well!

for me, Telnet was unticked, so

I've ticked both things at once.

after I did this, a windows update window appeared, and after that I was asked to to a reset.

problem solved!
