Can't log-in to Microsoft Store

I attempted to sign into the MS Store to purchase Forza Horizon 4, but was unable to do so.  When I tried, I got the error"We encountered an error.  Please try signing in again later".

I am not logged in a local account.

When I ran the Microsoft Accounts Diagnostic I found in one of the threads about this issue it stated that my device isn't trusted and that it can't connect to the sync service.  I attempted to go to the sync your services section in settings, but the system just hangs up at this point.

I have attempted several other fixes that have been suggested, but I remain unable to use the store.  I am unable to log in on my desktop, but it appears I am able to on my laptop.

Is there something that could be corrupted on my desktop, or a known fix for this issue?  Thank you.

Please try these options one by one and check after each option.

1. Try to change your DNS to either Google DNS or Open DNS and reboot your computer.

Windows Key+R > Type ncpa.cpl and Enter > Right click on your network > Properties > Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Hit properties > Make sure below ones are checked

Google DNS
Select Use the following DNS Server Addresses > Preferred DNS Server - 8.8.8.8 > ALternate DNS Server - 8.8.4.4
OR

2. Windows Key+R > Type services.msc and press Enter > Locate Background Intelligence transfer and ensure it is set to Start and Automatic. Also do the same for Windows Update service as well

3. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter
Windows Key+X > Click Settings > Click Update & security > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down to the bottom > Click Windows Store Apps > Click Run the Troubleshooter

4. Reset Windows Store through Command Prompt
Type cmd in Windows Search box > Right click on Command Prompt > Run As Administrator > Type WSreset.exe and click Enter > Reboot your computer

5. Re-register All Store apps (You will get many Reds, ignore them)
Windows Key+X > Windows Powershell (Admin) > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Restart your computer

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

6. Uninstall & Reinstall Store

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage

Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Reboot your computer

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Hello Sarkile,

I'm Independent Advisor and Microsoft MVP, here to help you with your question.

Try re-registering Store app. Perform these steps:

1. Search for Windows PowerShell using Cortana or Windows Search.

2. From results, right click on Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.

3. Then type following command and press Enter key:

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Let the command complete.

4. Close Windows PowerShell and check Store app, it should work fine now.

Let us know if this helps!
