Hi,
Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.
- Use the power button on the sign-in screen to Shift+Restart. This will take you to the recovery boot menu.
- Click Troubleshoot, Advanced options, Startup settings. When given the choice of startup options, try booting the PC in
Safe Mode with Command Prompt. If you can’t get there, skip to the next major step.
- If you can get to a CMD window, enable the built-in administrator account:
net user administrator /active:yes
Note: If this fails, check to see if there is a different language in use and use the correct “Administrator” name from the list here. - Then restart and sign-in as the Administrator account.
- Once in the Administrator account, open Regedit
and go to the following key:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\StoredIdentities - Save a backup of the key: Export the StoredIdentities key to a .REG file on the desktop.
- Then continue with step 4 below.
- If you can get to a CMD window, enable the built-in administrator account:
- Use boot media to access the recovery command prompt.
- Start Regedit.
- Select the HKEY_USERS key.
- Click File, Load Hive. and go up in the file system to This PC. Then browse to this file and then click Open:
C:\Windows\System32\config\DEFAULT - When prompted, name it “def”
- Select this key:
HKEY_USERS\def\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\StoredIdentities - Save a backup of the key: Export the StoredIdentities key to a .REG file on the C:\ drive.
- Find the subkey under StoredIdentities that matches the name of the Microsoft Account.
- Delete the key.
- If you loaded the offline registry hive, go back up in the tree on the left and select “def”. Then click File, Unload hive. This option will only be available if “def” is selected.
- Restart the PC and test sign-in.
- Once done, you may need to Verify the account in Settings, Accounts in order for it to be fully usable in Windows again.
- If you used the built-in Administrator account to resolve the issue, please return it to the default disabled state to help keep the customer’s PC secure.

Oh dear, what a mistake that was. As soon as I ran Windows 10 & entered my password I got the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA message & Windows 10 kindly restarted only to go back to the same error.
Well no problem, I'll just click shift & restart & go into the functions to get it sorted or returned to Windows 7 but hey, none of the options worked & the laptop just booted back up the the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA page again.
Well no problem, I'll just start the machine, press F4 & use the Samsung Recovery routine but hey, the F4 key did sod-all.
Well no problem, I'll open the BIOS & make my USB CD drive the 1st boot drive & reinstall Windows 7 manually but hey, I couldn't get into the BIOS because I found that Windows 10 doesn't really shut down so as soon as the laptop's switched on I got the 'System Resuming' message & the F2 key did sod-all.
Eventually I removed the hard drive, got into the BIOS & made the necessary changes & then hit F4 just before ramming the hard drive back in & bingo, Samsung recovery worked & I copied the backed-up complete copy of Drive C: so now I'm back with my trusty Windows 7.
The same method would also have enabled me to re-install Windows 7 from a disk if I'd had one.
Needless to say I won't be re-installing Windows 10 any time soon.

Yes it wasn't easy & judging from other forums probably not too many people would know to solve it so you're not on your own by any means.
I've posted what I had to do as a reminder to Microsoft that a lot of us are having our computers disabled by the Windows 10 upgrade & many people would not be able to fix it & could be left with a hefty repair bill.
