Can't Find scan app on Windows 10.

* Original title: Scan app

My Windows 10 either doesn't have the Scan App or I can't find it.  Help!

Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

Scan app’s performance issue can be fixed by installing Scan app updates, Uninstalling and reinstalling Scan will help you in fixing the issue.

In most cases, when you connect a scanner to your PC, Windows will automatically install the scanner.

If the app is installed on the pc then you may want to search the app.

Search for anything, anywhere: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/getstarted-search-for-anything-cortana

Hi,

We suggest that you change the Open With default program to XPS Viewer.

Original title: Scan app

My Windows 10 either doesn't have the Scan App or I can't find it.  Help!

SOLVED:

I too could not find the Scan app on my new Windows 10 Start listing, nor was it listed as an available device (like my printer and fax drivers) in settings.

That was because it apparently is not installed by default with Windows 10, but must be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Apps "Store," which is on the Start list.  Launch "Store" and find/install it from there and then it will be on the Start list.  (It's an app, not a device driver.)

Comment:  You might think, that with 84 other people having this question here and none of them marking Microsoft's official answer* as "solved" or even "helpful," they'd notice and provide the right answer.

*Suvarna Govinda replied on Nov. 7, 2015, and that answer and links did not understand the question nor give the simple solution above.
