can't connect to wifi with my desktop

Good evening,\

I am having trouble connecting to WIFI with my computer.  It will only sometimes connect to my phones hot spot, but doesn't see the router for our home network.  It gave me the error of Install a driver for you network adapter.

Please help

Hi tonyquintanar,

Thank you for participating in the Microsoft Community. My name is Sid, a Microsoft user like you and an Independent Advisor. I am sorry to hear that you're unable to connect to your WiFi using your desktop. I'll be glad to help you with your concern.

From the error message regarding driver, it looks like you may need to update the driver of your network adapter from the Device Manager. Open RUN then type in devmgmt.msc then click ok. Expand the Network Adapater. Right click on the driver then select Update Driver then reboot your machine.

Please also make sure that pending Windows Updates are installed.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Sid

Is you router 2.4 Ghz or 2.4 & 5 Ghz?

Is you computer set for one or the other?  Does your router have a network matching your computers speed?
