Cannot update to Windows 1909 to 22H2

i've tried to update my windows 10 to the latest version using every method that has been provided;
- i tried the /sfc scannow method
- i tried the /dism restorehealth method
- i tried restarting the windows update service and bits service
- i tried the standalone installers as well
- i tried 3 separate ISO files
- i tried a clean boot, which didn't do anything

and as of writing this post, i'm updating my drivers in hopes that that's the solution.
i have no clue otherwise what i can do to try to update my windows os, and this is getting extremely frustrating. i can't let the windows support crew use quick assist because i have to update my windows, but i can't update my windows despite everything i've done

these are the error codes i've received:
Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 (7):
Last failed install attempt on ‎2025-‎01-‎28 - 0x80246016
Failed to install on ‎2025-‎01-‎27 - 0x8024000b

2021-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1909 for x64-based Systems:
Last failed install attempt on ‎2025-‎01-‎28 - 0x8007000d

Security Update for Windows (KB5003169):
Failed to install on ‎2025-‎01-‎27 - 0x8024000b
Last failed install attempt on ‎2025-‎01-‎25 - 0x8007000d

i don't think it's an issue with the hardware of my pc, as the windows update assistant says that i meet the hardware requirements for the update to windows 10, but that i need a different processor for windows 11.

if i have to reset my pc completely or something, i'm fine with that, i just genuinely don't know what to do at this point.

Hello, I'm Estrella, an Independent Advisor, and I'm here to assist you. I understand that this situation has been challenging for you. I'll do my best to help.

Windows 10 version 1909 is very old, and you have missed several versions leading up to the latest 22H2 update. In this case, I recommend performing a repair in-place upgrade while keeping your files and apps. If this doesn't work, a clean installation of Windows may be necessary.

Note: Before doing so, unplug all unnecessary external peripherals connected to your PC, and temporarily disable any third-party antivirus program to avoid interference.

1. Click the 'Download now' button under 'Create Windows 10 Installation Media' and save it to your computer: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...

2. Run the downloaded file and select 'Yes' when prompted by User Account Control (UAC).

3. Accept the Microsoft Software License Terms if you agree.

4. On the 'What do you want to do?' screen, select 'Upgrade this PC now' and click 'Next.'

(This stage will download, verify, and create the Windows 10 installation media.) It will take some time to complete.

5. Under 'Choose what to keep,' select 'Keep personal files and apps,' then click 'Next.'

6. Click 'Install,' and the installation will begin. (This process will take some time, so please be patient.)

Thank you for your reply. Since this is a very outdated version and an in-place repair upgrade did not resolve the issue, try performing a clean installation of Windows. Make sure to back up your files first. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Estralla, no offense intended... but I call nonsense.

Microsoft is simply broken. This is an OS update and has nothing to do with anything with the user. Are you actually suggesting that the update process cannot handle older versions of itself? Absurd.

Having to wipe the complete installation is simply criminal.

I have a brand new install in a VM. It's at 22H2 and MS wants to update it. Boom, failed. This is just more Microsoft incompetency. It's sad.

There is no free lunch.
