Cannot run "powercfg -batteryreport"

Surface Pro 1 - 128 GB model

I'm at a dead end here, I cannot run the battery report command "powercfg -batteryreport"

I've tried running in elevated and non-elevated command prompt, run as administrator, in the start run dialogue box, as well as the windows power shell. I get the same error: An unexpected error condition has occurred. Unable to perform operation. You may not have permission to perform this operation.

I've also ran sfc /scannow without any errors.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

Strange behavior?

Is the battery-report.html file created in the root of the C: drive?

What happens when you type  powercfg /?  and press Enter from an Elevated command prompt.

Do you a list of the command options?

Let us know.

The energy report command works, the HTML file is in the root of C:, and the file shows me the energy efficiency of my surface pro in a span of 60 seconds.

What I'm looking for is the battery report, an overall report of the laptop's battery, ie charge cycles, etc.

thanks

I have the same problem on the battery report, except on the energy command I also get the following error:

"The Power Efficiency Diagnostic library (energy.dll) could not be loaded."

I'm running Windows 8 on a Sony Duo 13 with Active Directory log in that is admin on local system.
