Cannot open facebook app windows 10

I haven't had Fb for a month. I get a white screen everytime I type in www.facebook.com. I am not that computer savvy so I need to ask a question. I got on my firewall on allowed apps private public and looked for facebook which isn't listed, but twitter, Netflix, hulu and lots more are on there. I do not see Fb. Could this be a reason why I cant get Fb? Although I was getting it before. I don't want to mess up my computer so I don't want to do something that I might not be able to undo. I think it could be a FB problems as I have read that many people are having the same problem. Why wouldn't FB be on allowed apps  list or does this have nothing to do with the problem I'm having. I have had windows 10 for a few months now and I had FB up till a month ago. Just trying to find out if its something with my computer or if it is FB that has the problem. Thanks Carrie

I would suggest that you add facebook to the trusted and allowed sites and check if you can open facebook in your browser. To do so follow the steps below:

Steps:

1. On the search bar, type "Control Panel" 

2. Locate and select "Windows Firewall".

3. In the left pane, click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.

4. Click Change settings. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • 5. Select the check box next to the program you want to allow, select the network locations you want to allow communication on, and then click OK.

    6. Then click on the "Allow another App"

    7. Then click on Browse and add Facebook into the list.

    8. Click on Apply and check if the app opens.

    HI Vanessa, If this doesn't work can I take FB out of allowed apps? Also, its not only happening to me on my computer it also happens on my husbands computer when I try to bring up my FB page on his computer.  He can bring up his FB on his computer and mine but I cant bring it up on any other computer. I hope you do understand that my husband doesn't have FB in his allowed apps but can bring up HIS FB  NOT MINE, he has tried on other computers also with nothing, so r you sure this cold be the problem or is it a fb problem. I just don't want to mess up my computer for nothing. I m not sure the techs on this site no what IM talking about. There are other people without FB and a white screen also that are complaining also. I don't want to mess up my computer for nothing. Thanks

    HI Vanessa, I tried what you told me to do buy going to my firewall and trying to add Fb to allowed apps. It wouldn't take it. I followed your instructions and nothing. It wont even allow FB to be added. Is this a FB problem then?

                             thanx for the tips, but I tried every possible things , however the fb app(not the web) appears and vanishes in 3,4 seconds. Other apps have no problem. This might be the app itself. please help in this regard. thanks again.
