Hi,


Did you rid yourself of all malware?


You may want to try the following steps:

1.    Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Default Programs.

2.   On choose the programs that windows uses by default, Select “Associate a file type or protocol with a program > Click on the extension (.jar) to view the program that opens it by default.

3.  Click change the program and select the default program JAVA virtual machine launcher

4.  Click close.

Verify the issue is resolved


If not resolved, try removing and reinstalling java

Did you notice the date of the last reply posted?  (2013)  There have been many changes made to Windows since that post.  You're lucky I was still subscribed to the thread and your post did not go unnoticed.  When the last reply is over 6 months old, it is best to post your on Question Thread for assistance.

What version of Windows are you using?

What version of Internet Explorer?

Have you looked in Control Panel > Programs & Features > Uninstall Programs for Java software?

You can install java from Java.com

Install Java in Internet Explorer

If you're having problems installing or using Java, look for answers in the Java Help Center.

Note:  Java is not installed on Windows 8/8.1 or 10.
