Cannot isolate the problem that is causing my computer to crash, BlueScreen.

Hello,

I have an MSI Raider GE66, Windows 11, 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H 2.70 GHz processor, and 64-bit operating system with x64-based processor. It is hooked up to a Samsung UltraGear ultra-wide monitor via DP.

For a few months now, my computer will just crash suddenly. Sometimes it will restart itself, other times, my screen will be on (I can see the backlight) but will be blank/black and I have to force restart with the power button.

I found that SearchHost.exe was crashing and causing a critical error. I repaired Cortana and then ended up removing the program as I have no use for it.

I've used Command Prompt to check to see if any system files are broken, using the following commands:

DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /CHECKHEALTH

DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /SCANHEALTH

DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH

DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /STARTCOMPONENTCLEANUP

SFC /SCANNOW

All ran without finding anything. Today, I have 17 critical error events alone in Reliability Monitor.

The most recent events are as follows:

These crashes almost never happen when I am actively using the computer. They seem to happen when it is idle. My monitor will have gone into sleep mode and when I wiggle the mouse to wake it up, the computer doesn't respond. When I open the clamshell, either the screen is black but on, as stated before, or the MSI logo comes on as it's already rebooted itself.

If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm about to lose my mind and this computer isn't even a year old yet. If it is a hardware issue, I would like to figure that out ASAP while it is still under warranty and can be fixed.

I will try my best to provide any other information you may require to help me troubleshoot this issue.

Thank you.

Hi

Welcome to Microsoft community.

The event you provided, 1A1, generally indicates a hardware issue, which is likely related to drivers and PSU.

Subsequently, there are many BSOD events. For BSOD events, we can try to find the cause of the problem through DUMP files.

One of them points out that it’s a graphics card driver issue. The graphics card driver causing a blue screen could be a hardware

problem or a driver problem. Please refer to this article to find the local DUMP files and share these files with us through cloud

storage like OneDrive or Google Drive, so we can further assist you in troubleshooting software issues.

If most software-related issues have been ruled out, I would recommend you to apply for after-sales service.

Best regards

Here is a link to the DUMP files from the past month. There are 5. They are not mini because I didn't have that setting on. I hope this is not an issue.

Also, I downloaded BlueScreenView and the most recent (5/1/24) ones were caused by three separate drivers, ntoskrnl.exe, WdFilter.sys, and Ntfs.sys. The other two (4/25 and 4/18) were both caused by the ntoskrnl.exe driver.
