Cannot get my main Yahoo email login to work; instead, another username pops up

I have multiple email accounts to login to my Yahoo, Gmail, Windows 11, etc. My main email account is my yahoo account, and the email address includes using the '@yahoo.com'. Somehow, now an account is popping up every time I try to login to my main Yahoo account and that account's name is the same as my main account name except it does not include the '@yahoo.com' as part of the user ID.

I am not sure where that email username came from but guessing that when I created profiles for Windows, I may have misspelled the main name and dropped the '@yahoo.com' from the end of it.

Please respond with suggestions, I have already tried to delete, remove, correct the username by using Yahoo's directions for all of these edits but I get caught up in the loop.

Speaking about the loop, I end up having to recreate passwords for just about everything, over and over. I am sure that the looping issues have been caused by me since I have tried using Microsoft, Google, and currently RoboForm as password managers hoping to find the most suitable for me.

Long story short, I need to gain access again to my main Yahoo account and remove the "extra, alias, back-up, partially named" account, whatever it is.

Hello Linda Martin2 and welcome to the Microsoft Community!

According to your feedback, you are experiencing a problem with logging into your account with only the account name and no suffix.

Let me explain, this is not a problem!

When you configured your computer in the past, the computer was still detecting your email information, so it was showing all your email addresses.

After recognizing it, the mailbox is your personal information, for your information security, it will hide your suffix, that is, “@yahoo.com”.

You can try to log in the website of account.microsoft.com.

Then click on your information, there will be a “Full Name” character underneath, see if your name is the same as the name shown in your login screen?

If it's the same, then it's normal, and you can change it by clicking Edit, but you can't add an e-mail suffix.

This is decided by Microsoft settings.

If you want to show all your mailboxes, you can click the windows key

Go to Settings>Accounts>Login Options>Other Settings

Then check “Show account details, such as my email address, on the login screen”.

Then you can see your full email details on the login screen.

Sorry if I've misunderstood you.

You can upload a screenshot of the problem

I'll take a look at it in more detail

I hope you find the above information helpful
