Cannot dissociate .ani files from VLC

I try to open .ani file. Although .ani is not listed among the files with which VLC is associated, it is firmly associated with VLC in practice and VLC cannot open it. I try to associate it with RealWorld Cursor Editor, but cannot pry it loose from VLC. I suspect that this is just one more reason to hate Windows 11, which I am stuck with and utterly detest.

Please try running ani_fix_windows_11.reg to restore the default file type settings for .ani file.

After applying it, right-click on a .ani file, click Properties, and click "Change".

Select RealWorld Cursor Editor from the list (or select its executable manually) to set it as the default handler for .ani files.
