Can you access Window Photo Gallery pictures from another computer?

Is W.P.G. an online service, in the sense that you can access photos stored from any computer?

In other words, if one's computer either had a hard drive crash .  .  .  .  or it got stolen. . . . . is the owner able to retrieve said pictures elsewhere?

In addition, if the photos cannot be retrieved, is it possible to save these on a FLASH drive?

Q: Is W.P.G. an online service, in the sense that you can
access photos stored from any computer?

A: No...Windows Photo Gallery is a program installed
on your hard drive.

SkyDrive is an online service:

Q: In other words, if one's computer either had a hard
drive crash .  .  .  .  or it got stolen. . . . . is the owner able
to retrieve said pictures elsewhere?

A: No, the photos are saved in folders on your hard drive...
more than likely your "Pictures" folder.  Windows Photo
Gallery is a Viewer/Editor that simply accesses your photos
in the folders they are saved / archived in.

If your hard drive crashes or the computer is stolen...your
photos are lost unless you have a backup on CD, DVD,
Memory Card, Flash Drive, External Hard Drive, etc...etc...

Q: In addition, if the photos cannot be retrieved, is it possible
to save these on a FLASH drive?

A: Of course, you can save / backup your photos on any
type of external media.

For example:

Copy to Flash Drive:

In Windows Live Photo Gallery...right click a thumbnail
or a selected (highlighted) group of thumbnails or even
a folder and from the menu...choose..."Copy".

The flash drive should be recognized at...Start / Computer /
Devices With Removable Storage......with a drive letter.

Right click the drive letter that represents your flash drive
and from the menu...choose..."Paste".
