Can someone please help me find out why my bluetooth just isn't working now?

So last night I was playing a game with my mate and suddenly bluetooth just stops working, the devices didn't turn off or anything, just a random disconnection, anyway so I said I'll restart my computer, and when I do, bluetooth isn't showing up on my quick menu or actually able to connect through settings. It doesn't show up in device manager without showing hidden properties. I don't know what to do.

Dear Digby Wallace,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community!

I understand how frustrating it can be when Bluetooth unexpectedly stops working, and I’ll do my best to assist you.

Let’s go through a few troubleshooting suggestions to help resolve the issue:

Check Bluetooth Settings

Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.

Go to Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.

Ensure the Bluetooth toggle is set to "On."

If it’s already on, try turning it off and back on.

Restart Bluetooth Services

Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog, type services.msc, and press Enter.

In the Services window, scroll down and find Bluetooth Support Service.

Right-click on it and select Restart.

Ensure that its Startup type is set to Automatic. If it isn't, double-click the service, change the startup type, and click Apply.

Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers

Go to Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).

Expand the Bluetooth section.

If you can see your Bluetooth adapter here, right-click on it and select Uninstall device, restart your computer, and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

If Bluetooth still doesn’t appear, you may want to visit your computer or Bluetooth adapter manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest driver.

Perform a System Restore

If the problem just started recently and none of the above steps have worked, you might want to try a System Restore to a point when Bluetooth was working:

Press Windows + R, type rstrui, and press Enter.

Follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier point when Bluetooth was functioning properly.

Please try these steps and let me know how things go. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details, and I'll continue to assist you. We can look into more advanced solutions if necessary.

Best Regards,
