Hello wajidbaigal, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Bruno Leonel, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.

I understand that you’re having low storage problems on your hard drive and I’m sorry for that.
For a more accurate answer, is your computer a notebook or a desktop?

Check the total size of your hard drive.
Select the Start button and then select settings.
Select System> Storage.
Is this 28 GB of space your total disk or free space?

Regarding the space available on your HD (28 GB), it really is a small space compared to many HDs available on the market, however it can be a SSD HD (in this type of HD it is common to have a smaller space). It is not possible to increase
the HD space, however it is possible to exchange it for a larger space. In this scenario you will have to reinstall windows again in the new HD.

Adding an extra SATA HD or SSD is a good solution to gain more space to save files on your computer. The configuration is a favorable way to separate documents, for example, leaving a Hard Disk for the operating system and programs and another one only for personal files.

NOTE: Make sure your hardware components support adding a new hard drive. My suggestion is that you consult a technician or technical assistance you trust so that they can make these changes if you think it is necessary.

However, below are some options to free up space on your hard drive that may help you.

I suggest that you first perform a disk cleaning and defragmentation of the system to resolve this behavior.
To clean up unnecessary files follow the steps below:
Press Windows + Q type Disk, click the option Free up disk space by deleting unnecessary files.
Select the Unit (C :) and click Ok.
In the Disk Cleanup for Windows 10 window, click
OK and then click Delete Files.
After this procedure, run the defrag tool by following the steps below:
Press Windows + Q type Defragment to open the options in Search and click the Defragment option
and optimize your units;
Select Unit (C :) and click Optimize.

If the answer helped in any way, please mark it as an answer, if your question has not been solved, please post again.

I hope I helped, see you later!
Bruno A. Leonel

Dear wajidbaigal, However, if your device has a maximum capacity of 32GB (usable 28GB), which is a chip soldered on the motherboard and unfortunately it is not upgradeable.

I have a desktop.

The total storage capacity of C: is 28 GB out of which only 900 mb is free after Disk Cleanup and Defragment.

Problem not solved :(

Can we add Storage from D: to C: ? Because D; has large storage.

If you have important files on C: and you don't do regular backups of it to external media, you've been playing with fire.

Almost everyone should be backing up to external media regularly. It is always possible that a hard drive crash, user error, nearby lightning strike, virus attack, even theft of the computer, can cause the loss of everything on your drive. As has often been said, it's not a matter of whether you will have such a problem, but when.

Dear wajidbaigal, In this case, was there a partitioning on your HD?
Or drive D: is it another hard drive?
Press Windows + x and click on disk management
please send a print of this screen.

When we restore Windows by default we can choose to keep the files, but the applications will be deleted.
However, if you install Windows on this 28 GB partition, even if it is standard, you will still have the same 28 GB limit.

However we can try the solution below to extend the volume.
However, it is always recommended to perform a backup before extending or decreasing any volume.

I'll be waiting for the answer, see you!
