This is what I usually recommend to people with concern about disk space. First, try to check which folder is consuming your hard disk space. You may use an application called Treesize. Treesize would give you an accurate size for each folder. You may download a 30-day trial of Treesize on this link

After that, I would suggest performing a disk cleanup to delete temporary and unnecessary files on your computer
