Built-in Camera not working with Microsoft Teams

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y70 with a built in camera and Windows 10 Home. My company uses MS Teams and I can log in and see and hear everyone and they can hear me, but my face is frozen or doesn't appear at all. I've uninstalled Teams several times, made sure everything is updated. I can't get it to work.

Anyone have any fixes, workarounds? Thanks.

Hi Jennifer
I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

Windows Key+i > Privacy > Camera > Make sure that Allow apps to access your Camera is ON
Also down below Choose apps that can use your camera is ON for Teams. If this is already ON, make it OFF and after few seconds, make it ON again.

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.
Sincerely yours,

Hello Jennifer,

I'm Independent Advisor and Microsoft MVP, here to help you with your question.

Please refer following suggestions:

Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter from Settings app > Update & security > Troubleshoot.

If that doesn't helps, try to re-register Camera app:

1. Press Windows +X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

2. Type/paste following and press Enter key:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsCamera | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

3. Close Windows PowerShell and see if this resolves the issue.

Otherwise, try these steps:

1. Press Windows + X, select Device Manager.

2. Under Imaging devices, right click on your camera device and select Uninstall. Click OK.

3. Then click Action > Scan for hardware changes.

4. Close Device Manager and reboot.

Let us know if this helps!
