ive got BSOD and its saying there was a error with windows 10 insider, it wont boot!! buthing was touched inside it

Hello carl,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting to the community.

Based on the error message you shared, I'm wondering if you are currently enrolled in the Windows Insider Program, and you are using Windows Insider builds?

This error (critical process died) usually indicates a hardware failure or device driver issue. To avoid the risk of possible data loss, I sincerely suggest that you back up all data on your device first.

Also, I would like to know if you are currently able to access Windows again. If so, then I would like you to share the blue screen log with me so that we can narrow down the problem and find out what might be causing this issue. You can refer to the following steps to find the blue screen log.

  • Press Windows + S and type Control Panel in the search bar to find and open Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings>Write debugging information and select "Small Memory Dump". OK and restart the computer.

  • After setting, next time if the blue screen appears again, go to the default path location C:\Windows\Minidump where you can find the blue screen log file.

If you are not able to get into Windows successfully, then I would like to suggest you to try the following steps to see if you can get into Windows Recovery Environment (winRE). If you are able to enter, please try the following methods.

  1. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

  2. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

  3. On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

  4. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

  5. When Windows starts again, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

  6. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

  7. This time, allow your device to fully start up.

1. Safe Mode. After entering Safe Mode, you can shut down your computer and reboot again to see if you can enter Windows normally.

If you are also not able to enter the Windows Recovery Environment (winRE), then you may only be able to create an installation media and repair your computer via the installation media.

If you haven't created a recovery drive, download installation media and use it to restore from a system restore point or reset your PC.

  1. On a working PC, go to the Microsoft software download website. If you were using Windows Insider before and want to continue using it afterwards, then you can visit this site Download Windows Insider Preview ISO (microsoft.com) to download Windows Insider ISO

  2. Download the Windows 11 media creation tool and then run it.

  3. Select Create installation media for another PC.

  4. Choose a language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).

  5. Follow the steps to create installation media, and then select Finish.

  6. Connect the installation media you created to your nonfunctional PC, and then turn it on.

  7. On the initial setup screen, enter your language and other preferences, and then select Next. If you don't see the setup screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to change your PC's boot order, and then try again.

  8. Try Startup Repair.

If the problem persists, then it may be that your Windows system is corrupted, and you need to reinstall Windows.
