BSOD ntoskrnl.exe IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

My PC has been having a lot of bluescreen crashes upon waking up from sleep mode, gaming, or even when using Microsoft excel. I have tried to use DDU to uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers, reinstalled chipset drivers for my motherboard, and flashed to an updated BIOS version. I have also ran windows memory diagnostic tool with nothing wrong being found and sfc /scannow with no corruption being found. I am able to consistently get a blue screen crash when waking up from sleep mode, sometimes sending me into a bitlocker screen. Unfortunately, these crashes seem to fail to create a dump file to look at. I have tried using bluescreenviewer to read the dump files but I am unable to figure out the cause of the crash. For most the driver crashing is ntoskrnl.exe with a bugcheck string of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

My PC specs are:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600AE
GPU: AMD RX590

RAM: GSkill Ripjaws 16gb 3200 MHz

Motherboard: Asrock B450M-HDV R4.0 (Tried BIOS Version 3.10 and 10.10)

Here are the dump files that were written: dump files.

Thanks.

Hi Leslie, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today, my timezone is UTC +8.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to assist, upon analyzing and checking the DMP files, there is an error related to the Windows Driver framework which is associated with the drivers, which allows you to communicate between hardware and connected device, in addition, we need to point out what particular driver is causing the problem, can you please check the System logs on the PC so that I can further examine what is the root cause of the issue?

To do this kindly follow the steps from this link:

I have added files from the system logs at the times of two of the crashes, and another of the system logs when waking up from sleep mode and crashing. They are in the OneDrive folder I uploaded above. Thanks.

Hi Leslie, as per checking and analyzing the DMP files and event logs, there is an issue with the AMDRyzenMasterDriverV22, in this case, we need to re-calibrate the registry file of the AMD Ryzer Master driver, kindly follow the steps below:

Open Windows Registry (Press Windows key + R then type in regedit then hit OK)

Navigate:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\AMDRyzenMasterDriver

In the right pane, double-click ImagePath. In the Value data section, delete the “\??\” before C:\Program Files (without the double quotes). Click OK and restart your PC.

For reference: https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/ryzen-mast...

Note: If the issue persists, we will check and make sure there are no software-related issues, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

In-place

Note: If the issue persists, kindly download and install the latest BIOS update from your manufacturer's website, moreover, if all fail, I suggest checking and making sure there are no software-related issues, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Kindly follow the steps from this link:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Note: If the issue persists, I suggest contacting a local technician to physically check the processor or do a re-pasting of thermal paste to optimize the processor.

I figured out that I did not have ryzenmaster driver on my system, so i ran amd clean up utility to delete everything amd on the system. After this, I reinstalled the chipset drivers and graphics drivers as these are needed in order to put the computer into sleep mode(the sleep button didn't pop up otherwise). Without the ryzenmaster driver installed, there seems to be no error related to ryzenmaster driver, however the blue screen crash still occurs. I have uploaded this eventviewer file. I then installed the ryzenmaster driver, leaving the "\??\" in the registry editor and I did not see an error relating to the ryzenmaster driver. After this I tried what you suggested and deleted the "\??\", and interestingly still got a crash, and get the same error, "The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV22 service failed to start due to the following error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." I think this maybe narrows down the problem? it seems that the ryzenmaster driver is unrelated to the crash? What do you think?

As for your other suggestions,

The BIOS version 10.10 is the newest (nonbeta) BIOS version available: AsRock Website. I did discover a contradiction in their supported CPU List and the version number. All versions newer than 3.10 have a not stating , "*ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system." With my CPU being a summit ridge CPU, I checked the support list for the AMD Ryzen 1600AE which then states that ALL bios versions were verified and tested by AsRock. Before I made this post I tried the 3.10 BIOS version which still did not work.

I built this computer just a month ago, so the thermal paste application should be ok. I have monitored the temps and they seem normal. The issue has been happening since the computer was built.

I have not tried the in-place upgrade. I will try this when I have some time.

Again thank you for the help.

Hi Leslie, you are correct, as the driver might not have an issue and as per your inputs, it seems that there is an issue with the hardware itself, but to make sure everything is okay on the software side, kindly do the in-place upgrade and if the problem persists, I recommend contacting a local technician to check the device for any hardware-related issues physically.

The other day I tried the in place upgrade but the issue still happens. I'll have to swap parts from another pc of mine to determine the hardware issue when I have time.
