Brightness

Yesterday (1-25-25) I installed the new cumulative update and it killed brightness control. Moving the slider in settings > display does absolutely nothing; 1 and 99 are the same brightness.

Today (1-26-22), I uninstalled that update, and yet brightness control is STILL broken. Moving the brightness slider in settings > display still does absolutely nothing.

The brightness adjustment keys (fn+ f10 or f11) are also failing to adjust brightness.

It is PAINFUL to stare at a maximum brightness screen and I have the night light function on, but the reality is that removing the blue light and making everything some variance of orange isn't what I wanted or needed, nor is it helping. I need a way to actually reduce brightness itself again.

I have googled plenty for solutions and these are the things I have tried that have NOT worked:

*disabling and reenabling generic pnp monitor
*checking for driver updates (everything is up to date)

*power plan settings (change advanced power settings > display gives me no settings to change except "turn display off after" so i cannot even disable/reenable adaptive brightness)

Hello,

Can you share with me two screenshots please?

1. Go to Device Manager > display Adapters, I would like to see what's listed.

2. Please type msinfo32.exe in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then share a screenshot of the pop up.

Thanks!
