Brand New PC, Insane Slow Internet

I just got a brand new PC today. Pre-built, since I'm not particularly good with hardware and I'm too nervous about breaking something by putting it together wrong. It's a CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR Gaming PC, (GXiVR8060A11), uses Windows 11, and has a realtek 8821ce wireless lan 802.11ac for the wifi network adapter. It can detect the router, but sometimes can't connect to it and when it does, it's sitting at a dl speed of around 70 kb/s. I uninstalled and reinstalled the device, disabled and enabled it, made sure the drivers were up to date, turned on my phone hot spot and tried to connect there. No change even though it was right next to it (I'm not sure where the router is as I'm just renting a room in a house). I have a PS4 and a smart TV in the room as well that have no problems working or connecting to the internet, even though they're right next to it. Is the wireless card too weak or something? It's the only thing I can think of, because the PC is the only device with this problem

Hello, I'm Louie, and I'm happy to help you today. Hope you're doing well and safe there. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your network connection.

I would suggest first you to turn off your modem/router and leave it off for just a minute then turn it back on and check if fixes the issue

If steps above didn't work you may run network troubleshooter, use these steps:

Press Windows + I to launch the Settings app.
Click on Troubleshoot on the right in the System tab.
Now, click on Other troubleshooters.
Click on Run next to Internet connections to launch the troubleshooter.
Choose the appropriate response, if and when prompted, to complete the troubleshooting process.

If troubleshooter didn't fix the issue, try to turn off metered connections.

Press Windows + I to launch the Settings.
Select Network & internet from the list of tabs in the navigation pane on the left.
Click on Wi-Fi or Ethernet depending on the network type.
Click on the network that you are connected to.
Disable the toggle for Metered connection.

Disable apps from running in the background:

Press Windows + I to launch the Settings app.
Select Apps from the list of tabs in the navigation pane on the left.
Click on Installed apps on the right.
Locate the app that you don’t want running in the background, click on the ellipsis next to it and select Advanced options from the menu that appears.
Next, click on the Let this app run in the background dropdown menu.
Select Never from the list of options.

You may also try to Change DNS server.

Press Windows + R to launch the Run command.
Enter appwiz.cpl in the text field and either click on OK or hit Enter to launch the Network Connections window.
Right-click on the connected network adapter, and select Properties from the context menu.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the list of options and click on Properties.
Tick the checkbox for Use the following DNS server addresses.
Enter the following the respective fields and click on OK to save the changes:

Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Alternative DNS server: 8.8.4.4

After making the changes, restart the computer.

Hope this helps.

Louie

No, none of it worked. For the record, typing that command into the run tab takes you to programs and features. I'm fairly convinced it's a hardware issue since all of my other devices work completely fine

I'm sorry if the steps didn't work. It seems that the issue is complex than what I expected.

It may be best if I release your question to other advisors so they can take a look at it and let them share some other ways that can fix the issue.

You take care and keep safe always.

Sincerely,
Louie

Hi ChrisWhitfield2 my name is Ferdinand, I am an Independent Advisor.

That happened to my new machine as well, it turned out my wireless card is bad and had to buy a USB wireless adapter for my machine to work.
Have you tried booting to Safemode with networking?
If you have and still same then it should be a hardware related problem.
Please reach out to the store where you bought it or the support manufacturer for hardware warranty repair and replacement.
