Bluetooth on Asus i5 F550C for Windows 10

Hi,

I recently upgraded my laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Prior to the upgrade, my Bluetooth was working fine, whereby I could pair with different devices such as my Sony Xperia and send and receive files back and forth etc.

After the upgrade to Windows 10, I am unable to do that. My Bluetooth on my laptop is not visible to other devices and neither can I sent items from my laptop to other devices using the Bluetooth function.

Do you know how to correct this? Can it be fixed? If so, can you please help me.

My laptop model is an Asus i5 F550C.

Thanks

Hi,

If the above doesn't solve your Bluetooth problems, please see if the ideas below help.

1.  Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled.  From the Settings/Devices/Bluetooth page, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.

2.  If that doesn't help, the Bluetooth drivers are probably misconfigured.  Please search for an updated driver by navigating to Device Manager>Expand Bluetooth>Right Click on the Bluetooth Radio>Select “Update Driver Software…”>Select “Search automatically for updated driver software”.  In some cases it is also possible to find an appropriate driver by navigating to the support website of the computer manufacturer and searching for Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 compatible Bluetooth driver packages specifically for the computer.

For your File Transfer question, the workflow has changed in Windows 10.  To send or receive a file using Bluetooth, simply click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, select “Send a File” or “Receive a File” and follow the instructions on the screen. Please note that the receiving device must select “Receive a File” to wait for the connection.

I hope one of these ideas fixes your Bluetooth problems.

Thanks!

Kristin
