Bluetooth not Working. Updater not updating.

I've been having issues with my Bluetooth connection since early April.

I really wasn't paying attention as to the specific times that I had these issues, but long story short I noticed it when I couln't connect my blutooth controller to the computer. I tried updating the drivers for the blutooth device but it did not work. I basically gave up and decided to come back this this issue later. And now I'm back. I noticed that I may have to reinstall the drivers. Looked up how to do that online, and eneded up downloading Intel Driver Updater program which was able to update the drivers but my Blutooth still did not work (wouldn't connect). Looked further online and found a potential solution, where I went into Device Manager and selected Bluetooth, selected the Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) and seleceted to Uninstall Device. Once that was done my computer began to beep, reminds me of the beep when you connect and disconnect a device. It has not stopped beeping, even after restarts. The same beep, consistantly.

Now I tried to go back and see if I could undo what I did that caused this beeping to occur, and that's when I noticed the windows cumulative update.

I saw that the was a 2024-04 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5036620) ready to be installed.

I installed it and then there was another one, this one being 2024-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5036980)

Now this one did not install successfully.

I'm wondering if this might be why my bluetooth is not working?
And also as a side note, how do I stop the beeping?

Hello,William Conklin

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

I see that you can't connect your bluetooth controller to your computer and it beeps, there are many possible reasons for this problem, since we can't hear the exact sound, it's hard to make an accurate judgment for you. If you feel that the sound is caused by plugging or unplugging a device, please use the "Win + X" shortcut key and select "Device Manager , check if there are any devices in there that refresh frequently or appear and disappear, if so, you can right-click on the driver and manually choose to uninstall it.

You can also type "Control Panel" in the search box and select "Recovery > Open System Restore > Next, you can look for any previous restore points before the problem occurred.

Regarding the issue you mentioned about the system update failing, this is not related to the Bluetooth issue you are experiencing, but for the update failure you can try the following issues:

1. Search CMD, find the command prompt, choose to run in administrator mode

2. Input the following commands in turn, after each line of input to press enter

net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren %systemroot%\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
Del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat"
net start bits
net start wuauserv
net start cryptsvc

3. Then restart the computer to recheck the update to see if the fault is eliminated.

If you need further assistance, please let us know the issues you encountered during the operation, and we will provide you with more advice.
