Bluetooth missing 'send' and receive' files.

Trying to use Bluetooth to transfer photos and videos from phone to pc.

Nothing is being transferred.

When I check the Bluetooth icon on pc the menu box shows

 Add a Bluetooth Device

 Allow a device to Connect

 Show Bluetooth Devices

 Join a Personal Area Network

 Open Settings

 Remove Icon

nb      there is no 'send a file' or 'receive a file'

My phone shows details sent but being rejected.

How can I get the two missing files re-instated.

What is the make and model of your computer?

Have you checked for updated chipset drivers for your make and model?
Also, some manufacturers will provide separate Bluetooth drivers.

If you’re having problems sharing files over Bluetooth, here are some things to try to fix it:

Make sure your PC and other device are paired. On your PC, select the Start button > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices , and make sure the other device shows as Paired in the list of devices. For more info about pairing devices, see Connect to Bluetooth devices. (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17156)

Windows supports the Bluetooth Object Push Profile (OPP), which it uses when sending and receiving files. Make sure the other device supports the OPP profile too. To see if it does, visit the device manufacturer’s website or search the web. For a list of supported Bluetooth profiles in Windows, see Supported Bluetooth profiles. (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10568)

To receive a file, you need to be on the Waiting for connection screen in Bluetooth File Transfer on your PC. Here’s how to get to it:
Select the Start button > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Send or receive files via Bluetooth.

In Bluetooth File Transfer, select Receive files.
When sending and receiving files, make sure both your PC and the other device stay on and don’t go to sleep.

Other things you can try:

Press Windows key + R
Type: services.msc
Hit Enter
Scroll down to Bluetooth Support Service
Right click it
Click Properties
Under the General tab
Click in the Startup type: listbox
Choose Automatic
Click Start

Click Apply then OK

Restart your computer then check if its working.

Other things you can try include the Bluetooth troubleshooter.

Press Windows key + X
Click Control
Open Troubleshooting
Click Hardware and Sound
Click Bluetooth
Follow the on screen wizard

When complete, Restart your computer.

Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand Bluetooth
Right click each entry then click Properties
Select the driver tab, click Rollback if its not grayed out.

If it is grayed out, right click Bluetooth driver then click uninstall
Restart your computer then check if its working again.

If not, remove any other Bluetooth devices since they might be causing interference .

You can also try pairing through Devices and Printers. Learn more:

Hi Andre, thank-you for replying.

I am using a Sony Xperia x3 phone and Acer E15 laptop

Both are showing as being paired.

Googled the Sony provider for the Xperia  ..... A2DP

Andre, Sadly, I did all the suggestions you provided but the issue still remains.

The  'send a file' and 'receive a file' via Bluetooth are still missing from the Bluetooth menu.

Would you or anyone know any other ways to resolve this problem.

I have seen other people have the same problem.

Thanks

I would also recommend you reset your BIOS to see if that helps:
