Bluetooth isn't working in Windows 10

Hi,

My Bluetooth connection appears to be working (drivers updated and installed) but I can not get my BT headphones to display to allow me to connect.  The computer doesn't recognize BT devices when placed in pairing mode.

Hi Twin

I am an independent advisor here to help

May I ask are you running Windows 10 1903? and if you are is your Bluetooth radio hardware manufactured by Realtek or Qualcomm?

If the answer to both questions is yes, there is a known issue that prevents the pairing or connection to new Bluetooth devices and Microsoft is working together with both Realtek and Qualcomm to come up with a fix

if you are not using Windows 10 1903 or your Bluetooth radio device is not made by realtek or Qualcomm I would recommend that you run the Windows 10 hardware troubleshooter

You can do this by going to settings, then update and security, then troubleshoo,t then hardware and devices

Yes...I'm running version 1903 (Windows 10).  I don't know if my BT radio device utilizes Realtek or Qualcomm.  The BT headphones are Sennheiser Momentums & Grado GW100.  These pair by synching...there's no known drivers for the headphones.  This is a new build...and I discovered this feature's not working as it should. The BT mode is on but you can't add a device even when the device is placed in pairing mode.

write the driver issue wouldn't be the headphone driver it would be for the Bluetooth radio that's inside the computer.

If you look in your device manager you should be able to find out the manufacturer of your Bluetooth radio. You might even check their website to see if there are any updates available for that particular Bluetooth hardware.

It appears that your adapter is made by Intel

You still might check with Intel to see if there is an updated driver. It couldn't hurt

I have the latest Intel driver installed; maybe a fix will come in a future update.

I think it was a proximity thing.  That is...I placed the headset near the rear panel of my PC & it recognized the device so that I could pair it.  I’d also previously loaded the latest intel BT driver.  I’m not certain if the driver update was the fault because it didn’t initially recognize the BT headphone devices until I placed the BT headset near the rear panel where the BT module’s located on the mobo.
