Bluetooth Discoverability Settings Problem

Bluetooth shows error while enabling it's discoverability.

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1:I suggest you tocheck if the file history services are running or not, once I suggest you to stops and start the service. Follow as below and check if it helps.

1. Click Start, type services. MSc and hit Enter

2. Locate for Bluetooth services.

3. Right click on it and click properties.

4. Check whether the service is running, then click on “stop”.

5. Then again click on “start” and check.

Method 2: I suggest you to follow the below settings to unhide the device and check if it helps.

How to find Bluetooth settings in Windows 10:

  1. Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth.
  2. Select More Bluetooth options to find more Bluetooth settings.
  3. And check whether you can find the option to “Unhide” the devices.
  4. Once you find the option, you may “Unhide” the device and check.

The second method didn't work. Because there is no "unhide" option there.
Furthermore, problem is still there.

I understand that you are facing issues with Windows 10. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

The issue could occur if there is change in Bluetooth settings.

To assist you better, please provide us the below information:

  • What is the make and mode of the computer?

Refer to the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to perform the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. Check if it helps.

1. Click on search bar.

2. Type “Troubleshooting” without the quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

3. Click on View All on the left panel of the screen.

4. Click on Hardware and Devices.

5. Click on Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue still persist, refer to the below method.

Method 2: I suggest you to update Bluetooth driver in the Device Manager and check it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.
2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on Enter Key.
3. Search for Bluetooth drivers.
4. Right click on the driver and click on Update driver software.

Okay, so I had this same problem, too. If all of the given ways above aren't working (just like what I did), you may use this way.

1. Open Start button

2. Look for Device Manager

3. Click for Bluetooth, then expand.

4. You may see "Mediatek Bluetooth Adaptor" (for my laptop) or any keyword that contains "Bluetooth Adaptor"

5. Right Click, then select "Uninstall".

6. Once uninstalled, the selection will refresh, then click "Scan for hardware changes"

7. The device is detected. It will show an exclamation mark above the device, thus, it will automatically reinstall.

8. If not automatically reinstalled, right click the device then select "Install hardware settings".

This was perfectly BANG ON TARGET. Man you dont know how much I wish to thank, Tried all options, various communities, Microsoft official support which said it should be hardware issue, HP Support which said hardware is fine. I was in no man's land. Thanks Thanks Thanks
