Hi,
Do you get any error message?
Which version of operating system are you using?
Did the installation completed successfully?
I would suggest you to note down the error message and then post back with exact error message.
Disable automatic restart and find the error code, here is the link:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
You can also try booting the computer into safe mode and check if you are able to boot, here are the steps:
1. Restart your computer if it is powered on.
2. Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.
3. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.
4. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
5. Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
6. You should see drivers loading, and then please wait.
7. You should then be at the Welcome Screen.
8. Logon to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.

If you are able to boot the computer in safe mode, then try system restore from safe mode, and then follow the instructions from the below link to install XP mode:

Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7:

Please respond and let us know the status of the issue.

Hi all.
I too had the dreaded bsod after installing Virtual PC and XP Mode on my new Acer Aspire 5332 which i've upgraded to Win 7 Pro. I did a bit of clean boot troubleshooting with MSConfig and found my laptop booted fine if i disabled Extensible Authentication protocol.
From there i found that the WLAN auto config service depends on the EAP service and found the problem was actually my Atheros AR5B93 network adapter. I upgraded the driver from the Acer site, and Bob's your uncle!
XP mode and Virtual PC working fine now... I'll ensure I let Acer know too... Kind Regards, Mattyjl7.
