Black screen with mouse cursor before login

I am having issues fixing black screen with white cursor that has come up before log in screen when laptop was turning on (this is a new laptop, 5 days old) i have windows 10 that came with it.

No matter what combination I try I cannot get task manager to start.
i have tried suggested fix by microsoft with windows button, ctrl, shift b + volume up & down 3 times within 2 secs. Among many other attempts, can someone please help?

It seemed it was just doing an update ? maybe.. or one of the attempts to fix it worked after leaving for a bit and the power button flashing then the keyboard flashing. Anyway seems to be all sorted now..

Hello AdeleSemmler , I am Andrew an independent advisor. I am happy to hear the issue sorted itself out for you. For our reference incase somebody else comes up with this same issue can you please clarify what you did to resolve the problem?

Was it simply just waiting for an update to finish? Did anything end up on the screen to tell you what was happening or if an update completed?

Nothing came up on the screen to tell me what was happening. It just took me back to log in screen with face recognition like i normally sign in.
