Hi, Tyler Fr49
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
Thank you for your feedback. When you encounter a black screen and no cursor after booting up, it may be caused by hardware problems or corrupted system files. Here are some troubleshooting options:
1. Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force the laptop to turn off. Wait for a few seconds and then press the power button again to turn on the laptop and see if the problem is solved.
2. Make sure all external devices (e.g. USB devices, external monitors, printers, etc.) are disconnected. Check and make sure that the laptop's cooling fan is working properly to prevent overheating issues.
Using Recovery Mode and Repair Tool
3. Reboot your computer and press and hold the keys F2, F10, Del, etc. (the keys are different depending on your computer model) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup.
Check that the first boot entry is correctly configured for the internal hard disk and make sure the hard disk is connected properly.
If the above methods do not work, in order to rule out system problems, you can try to reinstall windows.

If the problem still exists, it is recommended to contact a professional technician or computer after-sales service department for further checking and fixing.
I look forward to your feedback.
