Black screen before login after installing warframe.

After I installed warframe and completed the tutorial, I tried to load the first level. It crashed. I tried starting warframe again, it crashed while loading the main menu.
I tried starting it for a second time; blue screen of death.

A few blue screens of death later I unplugged my second monitor.
This is the problem now:

My problem is the same as: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/548193/completely-blank-screen-after-windows-logo-can-t-login/

"The problem I'm having is that on bootup, everything looks fine and runs normally until the logon screen is supposed to come up. After the initial Windows loading logo, the screen goes completely black and then the monitor falls to sleep. Nothing will wake it up, and I can't connect via VNC either so I think the computer is hanging at that stage."

Safe mode works fine.

I tried using system recovery to go back to the point BEFORE I installed warframe, but it didn't work.

I tried running the command "SFC /scannow" and it didn't find any problems.

I tried letting windows perform a memory check.

My computer's specs:
HP G72-b10SD Notebook PC

I sent a ticket to warframe support as well.

Hello Duco,

Welcome to Microsoft Community forum. We would be glad to help you.

A black screen may occur if there is a problem with the video card drivers.

1.       What is the make and model of your PC?

2.       What is the model of the GPU installed on your PC?

3.       When you get the BSOD, do you also get any error code?

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check:

Method 1

Boot the system in Safe Mode and check if you still face the issue.

Refer to the link http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

If the issue is not there in Safe Mode then

Perform a Clean Boot to see if there is any software conflict as clean boot helps to eliminate software conflicts.

Follow the link below to perform clean boot:

“How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8”

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Please go through the section: How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

Method 2

If you are able to boot in Safe Mode, uninstall your graphic card from the device manager and check. Follow the steps below:

1.       Click on start and open control panel.

2.       From control panel, open device manager.

3.       Under display adapter, look for your graphic card.

4.       Right click on it and select uninstall.

Also check the option that says delete driver software for this device.

Now try to restart the system and boot he system in normal mode and then reinstall the latest drivers for the graphic card from the manufacturer’s website.

Method 3

Follow the steps in the article:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-windows-7

Also, check the article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-Windows-7

Only method 2 sorta worked...

The installer gave me an error: "Failures occured during installation"

The "View Log" button didn't work.

Good thing is my computer can now boot normally using my onboard video card.

Retried installing. It worked. After rebooting my computer I got back to where I started.
Should I just restore my laptop to factory settings with that restore partition? I can just backup my important files as they aren't even 1GB.
