I had blanked out my computer and re-intalled my xp home os. (with sp3) I have installed wmp11. I now need a dvd decoder and wanted opionions on the best one. I have never played dvd's on this computer. I have seen adds for roxio cineplayer, advanced corel which is the cheapest, and cyberlink's power dvdse decoder, but know nothing about them. Any others?
I want to make sure the "enhancements" work properly. (frame advance, video adjustments aka bright, cont, ect..)
Also the ability to remove the nav bar durring full screen mode. (zoom would also be nice)
I am asking because my brother's xp pro compuer with wmp11 will not allow the video adjustments or zoom to work.
I don't know which decoder he bought and he doesn't remember so I don't know what to avoid.
I will be playing Standard def comercial and burned dvd's as well as avi and wmv.

p.s. please do not tell me to use VLC instead. It does not have frame advance. And is "not" compatable with "screen hunter" which I use to make screen caps at 1280 x 1024 which VLC can't even begin to do. (yes screenhunter makes caps at whatever your computer resolution is)
