Audio recordings through speakers sound muffled, how could i fix this?

device: HP Pavilion X360 Convertible 14-cd1xxx

(i don't know if this question would fit better under an HP support forum, however i'll still ask here just to be sure)

Hello all, i'm trying to get game sound clips by recording my desktop audio through speakers and turning it into an MP3, however, when i record, the finished result sound awful, it sounds very muffled, almost as if i was recording the audio through a wall.

To demonstrate, i have asked a friend to record some audio from the game for me himself, then, i recorded the same scenario but on my computer.

His video (silver car):

My video (red car):

As you can see, the audio on my video sounds really bad compared to his, now, i was able to fix the issue, however this was only after connecting my bluetooth earbuds and recording through those speakers instead of the laptop ones, i am not discarding that this is a hardware issue, however i'd just like to make sure that this isn't an issue with any drivers or system settings, i tried both OBS and Audacity to record desktop sound (to make sure it wasn't an issue with the software) and got the same result both times, painful, muffled sound.

I hope i can get some help with this, thanks in advance.

Try to check if there are updates with your audio drivers that you can roll back.

-Win + R to open run box
-Type: devmgmt.msc <Enter>
-Look for "Sound, video, and game controllers"
-Right-click the driver > click Properties
-Go to Driver tab
-Click "Roll back drivers" (if clickable)

Note: If you have 2 or more drivers showing up in the category, repeat the process and apply to the other driver. Ignore this if you only see one.

If "Roll back device" is not clickable, select "Uninstall device" instead. Do it to all drivers under "Sound, video, and game controllers" and restart the computer.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if the suggestion works or not, so we can have other experts join in and share their ideas. Thank you!
