Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams
Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary
technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a
Microsoft Agent or
Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an
official
Microsoft global customer service number.
A few days ago I started to notice that attachments sent to my Gmail account in the Mail app are not showing up. However they show up in my other signed in accounts that are not Gmail. I can view the attachments on my other devices just not in the Mail
application for Windows 10.
The latest version of Windows Mail app has broken the settings for Gmail. The automated method for adding the account using the Google link provided by the Mail app no longer works.
The best way to work around this is to remove the Gmail account from the Mail app and then re-add it manually via the Other Account POP/IMAP route, add you details then select Change mailbox sync settings
and go into Advanced settings and check that IMAP settings are as described in Gmail help: Check Gmail through other email platforms - Gmail Help
One other thing you may have to do is change a security setting in Google to allow access to less secure apps. Google now considers the Windows Mail App a less secure app and therefore blocks it from doing
some tasks. If anyone is concerned with this and while we wait for Microsoft to sort this out it might be safest to only use Gmail via a browser using mail.google.com
Hope this helps,
Phil C

Just updated to Mail app ver 16005.12827.20290.0 today.
Same issue persists, even after deleting all accounts, resetting the app, & attempting to add the account using the built-in Google settings. Attachments are nowhere to be found.
The IMAP option still works though, so going to continue to use that until Micro$oft figures out how to fix their app.
