Attachments from gmail not showing in Mail App

A few days ago I started to notice that attachments sent to my Gmail account in the Mail app are not showing up. However they show up in my other signed in accounts that are not Gmail. I can view the attachments on my other devices just not in the Mail application for Windows 10.
Hi ray123456_674,

I'm an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products just like you.

Try to set Mail as default email program and to update the Mail and Calendar app.

Set Mail app as the default email program
Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Email and select Mail

Update Mail and Calendar app
Go to Microsoft Store > See more (...) > Downloads and updates > Get updates

I am not experiencing this issue in using version 16005.12827.20200.0 of Mail and Calendar app and Windows version 1909 build 18363.836

The latest version of Windows Mail app has broken the settings for Gmail. The automated method for adding the account using the Google link provided by the Mail app no longer works.

The best way to work around this is to remove the Gmail account from the Mail app and then re-add it manually via the Other Account POP/IMAP route, add you details then select Change mailbox sync settings and go into Advanced settings and check that IMAP settings are as described in Gmail help: Check Gmail through other email platforms - Gmail Help

One other thing you may have to do is change a security setting in Google to allow access to less secure apps. Google now considers the Windows Mail App a less secure app and therefore blocks it from doing some tasks. If anyone is concerned with this and while we wait for Microsoft to sort this out it might be safest to only use Gmail via a browser using mail.google.com

Hope this helps,

Just updated to Mail app ver 16005.12827.20290.0 today.

Same issue persists, even after deleting all accounts, resetting the app, & attempting to add the account using the built-in Google settings. Attachments are nowhere to be found.

The IMAP option still works though, so going to continue to use that until Micro$oft figures out how to fix their app.

Good news! The latest Mail and Calendar app (Version 16005.12827.20400.0) appears to have fixed the missing attachments issue.

You can get this update via the Microsoft Store App.
