ASUS Camera upside down

ASUS camera is upside down after upgrading to Windows 10. Is there a way to fix this? Will there ever be a "flip" option on the camera app?

Hi Vicki,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Thank you for showing interest on Windows 10.

Are you facing this issue only in the Camera app?
Does this happen only with video recording or when taking pictures as well?

What is the make and model of the camera?

If you have installed any other webcam software that came along with your computer or if you have Skype installed, I would suggest you to check if you face this issue only in the camera app or in other apps as well.

If you face this issue only in the camera app, then it could be caused due to some incorrect settings in the camera app. In this case, I would suggest you to try these steps mentioned in this article and check:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app

If you are facing this issue in other applications as well, then it could be due to corrupt webcam driver or a hardware fault. I would suggest you to try these steps and check:

Method 1:
Hardware and devices troubleshooter

This built-in troubleshooter can detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause issues with hardware devices. Refer to these steps to run this troubleshooter:

a)      Press Windows key +F to bring up the search Charms bar.
b)      Type Troubleshooter and press enter; click on the Settings tab below the search box.
c)       Click on the Find and Fix problems tile and then click on the view all button the left panel.
d)      Click on the hardware and devices troubleshooter and run it.

Method 2:

First uninstall and reinstall the camera drivers. Here are the steps to uninstall drivers,

  1. Press Windows key + R key and go to Run

  2. Type devmgmt.msc

  3. Right click on the camera drivers and Uninstall it

  4. Then I would suggest you to install the latest webcam driver from the manufacturer’s website and check.

I have an ASUS which I upgraded to Windows 10 and the camera is now upside down.

I found this You Tube Video which explains how to update the driver from Microsoft back to ASUS driver and now my camera works again.
